Preceptor Review

“It has been one of the greatest honors of my life to mentor Belle Payette. She is consistent, funny, eager, engaged, curious, and deeply smart, and she brings those qualities into her work in a way that feels both steady and joyful. More than anything, she is a truly top-notch human, and that shows in every interaction she has with clients, colleagues, and the families she serves.

Belle is genuinely beloved by our clients. They trust her, feel safe with her, and connect with her so deeply that many of them want to throw her a going away party. That kind of response does not happen by accident. It comes from her presence, her warmth, and the way she shows up fully and reliably, again and again.

As a midwifery student and birth assistant, Belle has never failed me. Not once.  She brings incredible energy, a kind and thoughtful heart, and a real investment in both the people she cares for and the outcomes of their births. She is careful, attentive, and grounded, and she approaches her work with a level of intention that is rare. She is skilled and capable of doing everything expected of an entry-level midwife, and she does so with care, confidence, and humility.  She is also incredibly funny and light hearted and finds much humor in the crazy work we do.

On a personal level, it is hard to imagine my work and my life without her. I have cried many times thinking about her moving on, because her presence has mattered that much. There will be a very real hole when she leaves, and that speaks to the depth of her impact here.

I cannot recommend Belle enough. Any midwife or practice that gets to work with her will be incredibly lucky, and I will be genuinely jealous of those who get to continue alongside her. She is someone you want beside you in birth work and in life.”

Client Reviews

“Kristen and her assistant Belle were perfect for us—so attentive, resourceful, and supportive. By the time my due date came, I knew I was in great hands. During the delivery, Kristen’s calming voice was all I could focus on. Her encouragement is a reason I only had to push for 15-20 minutes, and her and Belle’s support were beyond invaluable—not just during the pregnancy, but in the delivery room as well.” - AB

“I am forever grateful for the care I received from Kristen and her assistant Belle. We researched lots of options, and the sensitivity and level of care was unparalleled.” -RT

“I am writing with the highest recommendation of Belle Payette as a birth assistant.  She was our midwife’s assistant throughout my pregnancy and birth, his past August.  Belle has such a calm, confident, grounding presence that really comforted us. She is a  thoughtful listener, very attentive, and always aware. She is nuanced when it suits the  situation, and more direct when needed, which let us confidently put our safety in her  hands. Her passion for empowering birthers is obvious, and she maintained a  professional role as our midwife, while also becoming like family. She was such a great,  important part of our birthing experience.

If we were to have another child, we could only hope for as wonderful of a support  system as we had with Belle and her mentor, Kristen.

I would highly recommend working with Belle, they really don’t come better than this!”
